Terms of Use
Last updated 22 September 2026
License
ApolloShell is free, open source software under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. You may use, copy, change and share it under that license; changed versions have to stay under it and their source has to be shared, both when you pass them on and when you let others use them over a network. Earlier versions stay under the license they were released with.
No warranty
ApolloShell is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It changes how parts of macOS look and behave, and you use it at your own risk. As far as the law allows, I am not liable for damage or data loss caused by using it.
Not notarized
The app is not notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to allow it once. Download it only from this site, the GitHub releases page or the official Homebrew tap.
The Marketplace
The Marketplace lets people share and install themes. To share a theme you must be at least 13 years old and signed in with GitHub.
What you submit. By submitting a theme you confirm that you made it or have the right to share it, and that it does not use someone else's name, brand or work without permission. You publish each theme you submit under CC0 1.0, which lets anyone use it freely. Some built-in starter themes keep their own license and name their source instead.
What is not allowed. No content that is illegal, offensive, deceptive, infringing or spam, and no themes that impersonate other themes, people or brands.
Moderation. A theme is reviewed before it goes public, and I may reject, hide or remove a theme and ban an account. When I do, you are given a reason. Anyone can report a theme, with or without an account, using the report button in the app or by writing to the contact address below. Themes are provided by their authors as is, with no warranty from me.
Third parties
ApolloShell is an independent project. It is inspired by the Caelestia shell and is not affiliated with its authors or with Apple. Weather data comes from third-party services with their own terms.
Changes
These terms can change with new versions. The current version is always on this page.
